The results of the Wetland Photography Competition have been officially published, and the winner is Mr. Sujan Prakash Pradhan, a photographer from Khandadevi RM-02, Ramechhap. His remarkable photograph, titled “Reflection of Annapurna South on Wetlands,” stood out among numerous entries, capturing the serene beauty of the Perebrahane Lake, located near the iconic Ghorepani and Poonhill in the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP), Myagdi.

The photograph beautifully showcases the reflection of Annapurna South on the still waters of the high-altitude wetlands, a rare sight that highlights the pristine environment of the region. Perebrahane Lake, known for its scenic beauty, is often compared to Phewa Lake and holds cultural and religious significance for the local community. It is home to a small temple, and the residents of the area have been actively working to preserve this wetland, recognizing its importance not just for its natural beauty but also for its cultural and ecological value.

In line with the theme of the 2025 Wetlands Day slogan, “Protecting Wetlands for Our Common Future,” the photo encapsulates the deep connection between nature and the local culture, and the ongoing efforts to safeguard this vital ecosystem.

The competition organizers also extended their gratitude to all participants who contributed to the event, which helped raise awareness about the importance of wetlands and their preservation.
