Yeti Airlines successfully completed test flights at Surkhet and Dhangadhi airports on Saturday, marking a significant step in its expansion strategy. According to Yeti Airlines spokesperson Sudarshan Bartula, the ATR 72 aircraft (9N-AMN) took off from Nepalgunj Airport, landing at Surkhet at 12:17 PM and later at Dhangadhi at 2:45 PM. The test flights were piloted by Captain Samartharatna Tuladhar and Captain Raju Rajbanshi, with officials from the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) and Yeti Airlines’ technical representatives onboard to oversee the operations.

Earlier, on March 4, Yeti Airlines had also conducted a successful test flight at Rajbiraj Airport. The airline aims to introduce regular commercial flights to these airports and use them as alternative hubs in its network expansion plan.

Yubaraj Kumar Bista, Accountable Manager & Chief Commercial Officer of Yeti Airlines, stated that the airline is strategically expanding its flight routes to meet growing passenger demand. He expressed confidence that regular flights will strengthen customer trust and enhance accessibility to remote regions.

Following investment from Asian Life Insurance, The airlines has adopted an aggressive market strategy, prioritizing passenger comfort and safety. The airline claims that its occupancy rate currently stands at 85–90%, reflecting strong passenger confidence.

Currently, The Airlines operates seven ATR 72 aircraft, serving destinations like Kathmandu, Chandragadhi, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Simara, Pokhara, Bhairahawa, and Nepalgunj. The airline has also announced plans to expand its fleet and destinations in the near future.
