Buddha Air has expanded its fleet with the addition of its 18th ATR-72 aircraft, increasing the total number of ATR-72s to 15. This latest acquisition, with the call sign 9N-ANZ, was imported from France.
Rupesh Joshi, the Marketing Director of Buddha Air, stated that after the completion of necessary legal formalities, the new aircraft will commence commercial operations on the 1st of Shrawan. This addition is part of Buddha Air’s broader strategy to enhance its service offerings and improve accessibility for passengers.
From Shrawan onwards, Buddha Air plans to increase its flight frequency to Surkhet and Dhangadhi and extend services to additional destinations. With a robust fleet now comprising 15 ATR-72 and three ATR-42 aircraft, the airline aims to cater to the growing demand for air travel.
Joshi emphasized that including the new aircraft aligns with Buddha Air’s commitment to providing convenient and affordable air travel. He expressed confidence that the increased flight frequency and effective management of flight schedules will significantly enhance the passenger experience.
Currently, Buddha Air operates more than 150 domestic flights daily and has international services connecting Kathmandu to Varanasi, India. The airline also serves passengers flying from Pokhara, Chitwan, Bhairahawa, and Nepalgunj, solidifying its position as a key player in Nepal’s aviation sector.
