Grand Opening of Hilton Hotel Kathmandu Set for Shrawan 11

The highly anticipated grand opening of the 18-story Hilton Hotel in the capital is scheduled for Shrawan 11, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Pooja will be on Ashadh 28.

Shankar Group, the primary investor with over 95% stake in the hotel’s construction, has confirmed its imminent completion. The inauguration ceremony is expected to be graced by the presence of the US Ambassador to Nepal, highlighting the international significance of the Hilton Hotel managed by Hilton Worldwide Limited, headquartered in England. Hilton manages hotels in over 123 countries worldwide.

The construction of the hotel, which faced some delays, was initially estimated to cost approximately 6.68 billion. Started in 2018 amidst the challenges posed by the pandemic, the project’s completion signifies a significant milestone despite the extended timeline.

Sahil Agrawal, a key member of Shankar Group, holds a 90% stake in the hotel, which boasts 172 rooms and plans to include a spacious banquet hall. Spread across a 9-acre area, Hilton Kathmandu features amenities such as an environmentally friendly swimming pool and offers a range of local and international cuisine.

Designed to cater to weddings, conferences, and various events, the Hilton also provides underground parking facilities and includes a nightclub, employing a workforce of three thousand, as revealed by Shankar Group.
