Barpak Sulikot Rural Municipality-1 – The Buddha Park, located at Taklenan Danda, has emerged as a major attraction for tourists visiting Barpak. This park, reflecting Barpak’s tradition, history, art, and culture, has become a favorite spot for visitors who spend hours enjoying the panoramic views of Barpak.
Resident Man Bahadur Ghale notes, “The beautiful and attractive paintings in the park captivate tourists. It’s rare for a visitor to leave Barpak without visiting Buddha Park.” The park’s establishment has significantly boosted tourism in the area.
“Barpak is already a beautiful village with its unique art, culture, and features. The Buddha Park at Taklenan Danda has further highlighted the cultural heritage of Barpak,” Ghale added. Tourists often spend hours at the park, soaking in the ambiance and scenic beauty.
The park boasts a nearly five-foot-tall statue of Buddha, artistically placed to allow for a comprehensive view of Barpak. Additionally, it features elements reflecting Buddhist religion and culture, as mentioned by Village Municipality Chairman Vishnu Prasad Bhatt. “Visitors to the park get an opportunity to study and understand the culture of Barpak while enjoying the scenic view,” he said, emphasizing the park’s growing popularity among tourists.
Constructed with artistic stone decorations, Buddha Park has become another tourist destination within Barpak itself. Bhatt believes that promoting the park further could attract even more tourists to Barpak. The village is known for being the hometown of Victoria Cross recipient Bir Gaje Ghale and was the epicenter of the devastating Gorkha earthquake on April 25, 2015.
As Barpak continues to draw tourists, the Buddha Park stands out as a symbol of the village’s rich cultural heritage and natural beauty, offering visitors a unique and memorable experience.
