Nepal made a remarkable impression at the 13th Bangladesh Travel and Tourism Fair (BTTF) held in Dhaka from October 30 to November 1, presenting itself as a destination offering a “Lifetime Experience.” The three-day international event, Bangladesh’s largest tourism platform, brought together more than 100 tour operators and tourism professionals from both countries.

Leading the Nepali delegation, Acting Director of the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), Sunil Sharma, delivered a comprehensive presentation highlighting Nepal’s diverse tourism attractions. He described Nepal as a destination that offers unforgettable and meaningful travel experiences rooted in natural beauty, culture, and adventure. “It is not just a place to visit; it is a lifetime experience for every traveler,” Sharma emphasized.

Cultural and Diplomatic Ties Strengthened
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Nepal’s Ambassador to Bangladesh, Ghanshyam Bhandari, highlighted the deep-rooted historical, cultural, and people-to-people relations between the two nations. He underscored the importance of enhancing tourism cooperation to further strengthen bilateral relations. “Tourism exchange with Bangladesh can play a vital role in fostering mutual understanding and economic growth,” Ambassador Bhandari said.

From Bangladesh’s side, Md. Rafeuzzaman, President of the Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOAB), and Md. Taslim Amin (Shovon), Director of TOAB, praised the country as a natural and adventure tourism hub, appealing strongly to Bangladeshi travelers seeking unique experiences close to home.
Adding a vibrant touch to the event, the students based in Dhaka performed traditional folk and cultural dances, which captivated the audience and symbolized the close cultural bond between the two neighboring countries.

Business-to-Business Interactions and Networking
Following the formal sessions, the event also featured Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings and networking sessions between Nepali and Bangladeshi tourism entrepreneurs. These interactions provided an important platform for exchanging ideas, building partnerships, and exploring new tourism collaborations between the two markets.
To further engage the audience, a “Raffle Draw” was organized, where participants had the chance to win special holiday packages offered by the participating companies. The activity added an interactive and festive element to the fair, enhancing visitor participation.

Strong Nepali Participation Under NTB Leadership
Nepal’s participation was led by the NTB in collaboration with the Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA). The Nepali delegation included 16 representatives comprising tour operators, travel agencies, and hotel professionals. Together, they promoted it’s rich array of tourism products, including adventure tourism, nature-based experiences, cultural heritage, and thematic travel options, tailored for Bangladeshi visitors.
The country’s presentation emphasized the it’s proximity, affordability, and variety of experiences, positioning it as a short-haul yet world-class destination for Bangladeshi travelers seeking meaningful and memorable journeys.

Expanding Regional Tourism Cooperation
The 13th BTTF provided a valuable platform for Nepal to strengthen regional cooperation, expand its presence in the South Asian tourism market, and enhance its image as the “Destination for a Lifetime Experience.”
Officials from NTB expressed optimism that such participation would help boost tourist arrivals from Bangladesh, one of it’s important neighboring markets. The event not only fostered stronger business and tourism partnerships but also deepened cultural and diplomatic ties, aligning with it’s broader goal of sustainable and inclusive tourism development.
