According to Ward Chairperson Santosh Gurung, the park has witnessed a surge in the number of visitors, particularly during public holidays and Saturdays. Pilgrims visiting the nearby Chhimkeshwori Temple reportedly never miss the chance to spend time in the park, which offers a peaceful natural setting and a refreshing escape from urban life.
Situated close to the famous Chhimkeshwori Mai Temple, the park serves as an additional attraction for religious visitors, enhancing the overall tourism experience in the area. Gurung shared that the blend of spirituality, natural beauty, and mild climate has significantly boosted the site’s popularity in recent months.
A Community-Funded Tourism Infrastructure
The construction of Chhimkeshwori Park stands as an exemplary model of cooperation between the provincial government and local communities. Built at a cost of Rs 2.2 million, the project received Rs 2 million from the Gandaki Provincial Government, while the remaining Rs 200,000 was contributed through local participation.
One of the notable features of the park is the 20-foot-tall national flag of Nepal, which proudly stands at its center. This iconic element has become a major photo spot for visitors and symbolizes the cultural and patriotic value of the site.
