Himalayan Club Tours and Travel, a leading Nepal-based travel company established in 2006, has successfully completed a high-level familiarization (FAM) tour aimed at strengthening tourism ties between Bangladesh and Nepal. The initiative was designed to promote Nepal as a preferred destination for Bangladeshi travelers and to expand inbound tourism from one of South Asia’s fastest-growing outbound markets.
As part of this strategic effort, Himalayan Club Tours and Travel invited 30 top outbound tour operators from Bangladesh, including senior members and office bearers of the Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOAB). Among the delegates were influential decision-makers and the TOAB President, reinforcing the importance of the initiative in shaping future tourism flows between the two countries.

FAM Tour Details and Itinerary
The FAM tour was conducted from 11 January to 15 January 2026, spanning four nights and five days. The carefully curated itinerary allowed Bangladeshi tour operators to experience Nepal’s key tourism destinations, hospitality standards, and accessibility firsthand.
The program included one night in Kathmandu, two nights in Pokhara, and one night in Nagarkot. During their stay, participants explored major attractions, experienced Nepalese culture and cuisine, and assessed hotel infrastructure, transport facilities, and destination readiness for Bangladeshi tourists.
Key highlights included visits to Chandragiri Hills, scenic experiences in Pokhara, and a sunrise and mountain-view experience in Nagarkot. The tour was designed to showcase both leisure and short-haul holiday possibilities, aligning with the travel preferences of Bangladeshi tourists.
Industry Collaboration and Support
The success of the FAM tour was made possible through strong collaboration with Nepal’s tourism stakeholders. Himalayan Club Tours and Travel expressed special appreciation to The Kathmandu Address, Chandragiri Hills Limited, Hotel Landmark Pokhara, and Nagarkot Shangrila Resort for their hospitality and support.
Transportation services throughout the tour were provided by Baba Adventure, ensuring smooth and comfortable travel for the delegation. The company extended sincere thanks to all partners who contributed to making the program professionally executed and impactful.
Insights from Industry Leaders
Speaking on the occasion, Bishnu Pandey, Managing Director of Himalayan Club Tours and Travel, emphasized that the company has been actively working since its establishment in 2006 to bring Bangladeshi tourists to Nepal. He highlighted that the current regional travel scenario, where destinations such as India, Thailand, Vietnam, and other markets are facing visa or access challenges, presents Nepal with a strong opportunity.
“Nepal is just a one-hour flight away from Bangladesh, offering a safe, welcoming, and diverse travel experience,” Pandey said. “This FAM tour was organized to show Bangladeshi tour operators that Nepal offers much more than the standard 5–6 day city tours. Destinations like Ghandruk, Manang, Mustang, Kalinchowk, and trekking experiences can be effectively promoted in Bangladesh.”
Pandey also noted the importance of preparing travelers for altitude-related conditions and ensuring proper information sharing to enhance visitor safety and satisfaction.
Positive Response from Bangladesh Delegation
The Bangladeshi delegation, led by TOAB President Mohammed Rafiuzzaman, praised Himalayan Club Tours and Travel for its professionalism, close coordination, and understanding of Bangladeshi travelers’ needs. The TOAB leadership acknowledged that such initiatives help build confidence among tour operators and encourage them to design Nepal-focused packages for their clients.
Delegates expressed admiration for Nepal’s hospitality, warm welcome, and cultural richness. Despite minor altitude-related challenges faced by some participants, the overall experience strengthened their confidence in promoting Nepal more aggressively in the Bangladeshi market.

Growing Potential of the Bangladesh–Nepal Tourism Market
Bangladesh has emerged as a high-potential outbound tourism market, and Nepal’s proximity, affordability, natural beauty, and cultural depth make it an attractive destination. With improved air connectivity and collaborative promotion, industry leaders believe Bangladeshi tourist arrivals to Nepal will continue to grow in the coming years.
Himalayan Club Tours and Travel reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with Bangladeshi partners and expressed optimism that this FAM tour will translate into increased bookings, diversified itineraries, and long-term tourism growth between the two neighboring countries.
