Singapore Airlines has been named the World’s Best Airline for 2026 at the prestigious Skytrax World Airline Awards, strengthening its position among the leading carriers in the global aviation industry. The awards were presented during a gala ceremony at the Langham Hotel in London on September 18 to Singapore Airlines, bringing together airline executives, senior industry leaders and representatives from carriers around the world.
Singapore Airlines claimed the top position in this year’s ranking, while Qatar Airways, which received the world’s best airline title last year, finished second. Cathay Pacific Airways took third place. The top five was completed by ANA All Nippon Airways in fourth position and Turkish Airlines in fifth. The results reflect feedback from passengers of Singapore Airlines who participated in Skytrax’s international airline customer survey covering more than 300 airlines.
Asian and Middle Eastern Airlines Dominate the Rankings
The 2026 results underline the strong performance of airlines from Asia and the Middle East, with several carriers from the regions securing places near the top of the global list. Emirates ranked sixth, followed by Air France in seventh and Hainan Airlines in eighth. Japan Airlines placed ninth, while Korean Air rounded out the top 10.
Other airlines featured among the world’s 20 highest-ranked carriers include EVA Air, Qantas Airways, STARLUX Airlines, Lufthansa, Saudi Arabian Airlines, Iberia, Air Canada, Virgin Atlantic, Swiss International Air Lines and Thai Airways. The strong showing by Asian carriers reflects the region’s continued prominence in international aviation, with airlines from Singapore, Qatar, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand all represented in the top 20.
