Shiva Purana Mahayagya in Bardibas Raises Over NPR 8.1 Million for ‘Hamro Maya Ghar’

The ongoing ‘Shiva Purana Mahayagya’ in Bardibas, Mahottari district, has raised NPR 8.1 million over the past week. The event, organized to fund the construction of ‘Hamro Maya Ghar’ for the rescue and management of street people, has seen generous contributions from the community.

Hira Gautam, Chairman of the main organizing committee, announced that as of the seventh day of the Mahayagya, NPR 8,102,023 in cash donations had been collected. A total of 653 individuals have contributed to the cause, with one anonymous donor giving NPR 102,000.

The Mahayagya, which began on Shrawan 22 and will run until Shrawan 29, aims to raise NPR 15 million for the construction of ‘Hamro Maya Ghar.’ Chairman Gautam expressed confidence that the fundraising goal would be met by the conclusion of the event.

In addition to monetary donations, contributions have also been made in kind. Lakshmi Mahato, a Member of Parliament representing Mahottari Constituency No. 1, has donated 11,000 bricks, while Chandeshwar Sah, a resident of Bardibas-14, has contributed 105 bags of cement towards the construction.

The Mahayagya continues to draw support from the community, bringing the vision of ‘Hamro Maya Ghar’ closer to reality.
