Resunga Completes Final Testing of Zipline and Sky Cycling Facilities

Resunga Municipality has completed the final testing of its newly developed zipline and sky cycling facilities at Garjura, a popular tourist destination in Gulmi, as the municipality prepares to launch the new adventure tourism attractions. The final trial was conducted with around 40 participants testing both facilities. Following the successful trial, the municipality said all necessary preparations for regular operation of the adventure tourism infrastructure have been completed. The project features a 568-metre zipline and a 110-metre sky cycling facility, aimed at expanding adventure tourism opportunities and attracting more visitors to Resunga.

568-Metre Zipline Completes Trial Successfully

Participants tested the zipline during the latest trial and reported positive experiences. Laxmi Khanal, one of the participants, described the zipline ride as smooth and enjoyable, while also praising the views available from the facility. According to Khanal, it took around 58 seconds to complete the 568-metre zipline ride. Another participant, Prakash Bhalami, also expressed satisfaction with the performance of the facilities. He said the infrastructure was functioning well despite some earlier delays in the project schedule.

Adventure Tourism to Boost Visitor Numbers

Khildhwaj Panthi, Chief Administrative Officer of Resunga Municipality, said the primary objective of developing the zipline and sky cycling facilities is to promote tourism in the municipality. He expressed confidence that the new adventure tourism attractions would increase the number of visitors to Resunga and provide tourists with additional activities beyond sightseeing. The municipality has been developing tourism infrastructure in the area to strengthen Resunga’s position as an emerging destination for adventure and nature-based tourism.

Commercial Operation to Begin Within a Week

Binod Marasini, Administrative Officer of Resunga Municipality, said the zipline and sky cycling facilities are expected to come into regular operation within a week. According to Marasini, the municipality will be responsible for managing and coordinating the operation of both facilities. The municipality has fixed the ticket price at Rs. 600 for the zipline and Rs. 400 for sky cycling.

Mountain Views Add to the Attraction

Located at an elevation of around 2,300 metres above sea level, Resunga offers panoramic views of surrounding hills, valleys, and snow-capped mountain ranges. Visitors using the newly developed adventure facilities will be able to enjoy views of several Himalayan peaks, including Machhapuchhre and Dhaulagiri, along with the area’s natural landscapes. The combination of adventure activities and mountain scenery is expected to make the site an additional attraction for both domestic and international tourists.

Rs. 12.5 Million Investment

The adventure tourism infrastructure was constructed at a cost of Rs. 12.5 million. The project was contracted to Khanal Infra Pvt. Ltd., which developed the zipline and sky cycling infrastructure at Garjura. With the final testing completed and regular operations scheduled to begin shortly, Resunga Municipality expects the facilities to contribute to local tourism development and increase economic opportunities linked to tourism in the area.
