The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported the continued influence of monsoon winds across Nepal, with the monsoon low-pressure line situated at its average position in the west and slightly northward in the east. This has resulted in partial to generally cloudy conditions across the country.
Currently, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces are experiencing light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in some areas. The department forecasts that during the day, general cloudiness will persist throughout Nepal, with light to moderate rainfall expected in parts of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as one or two locations in Madhesh Province. Additionally, heavy rainfall is likely in isolated spots within the Koshi, Bagmati, and Sudurpaschim provinces.
Tonight, partial to general cloud cover is anticipated in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, while light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning is expected in other provinces. Heavy rainfall is possible in one or two locations in Koshi and Madhesh provinces, as well as in parts of Lumbini Province.
The department has urged the public in affected areas, particularly in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, Sudurpaschim, and Madhesh provinces, to remain vigilant due to the possibility of heavy rainfall and associated risks.
