The International Peace Day was celebrated at the Himalayan Heritage Retreat, located at Syalpa Monastery in Kapan. The event, titled the “Global Peace Festival,” carried a powerful message of global harmony and non-violence.
The program was organized to raise awareness and garner support for the establishment of a Global Peace Sanctuary in Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha. The event brought together peace ambassadors, diplomats, and cultural figures from around the world to share a platform dedicated to peace.
The celebration featured traditional Nepali dances, theatrical performances, and vibrant cultural displays, all emphasizing the spirit of unity and peace.
Spiritual leader Shyalpa Tenzin Rinpoche, who addressed the gathering, urged attendees to embrace peace as a fundamental birthright. He emphasized the need to utilize this moment and recognize the inherent right to peace.
“We often take peace for granted. As responsible individuals, we consider ourselves intelligent and refined,” Rinpoche said. “But if we fail to live each moment as if the next may not come, we haven’t truly understood the real meaning of peace.”
The event served as a reminder of the significance of peace in our lives and the collective responsibility to uphold it across the globe.
