Gautam Buddha International Airport (GBIA) in Bhairahawa is seeing an increase in international air traffic as three airlines have conducted flights today, marking a significant step in enhancing Nepal’s global connectivity.
Jazeera Airways, which brought 171 passengers to GBIA, was the first to land today. Additionally, Fly Dubai and Nepal Airlines are also operating flights on the same day. According to Pratap Babu Tiwari, General Manager of the airport, Jazeera Airways will operate three weekly flights to GBIA on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Fly Dubai, known for its regular services, will operate daily flights to the airport. Meanwhile, Nepal Airlines, the country’s national carrier, will conduct three weekly flights to Dubai on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays.
With these additions, the number of international airlines operating at the airport has now risen to four, including Thai AsiaAirlines, which had already commenced its services earlier.
This expansion in international flight operations reflects the growing appeal of GBIA as a key travel hub for both local and international tourists, bolstering Nepal’s position in the global tourism market.
