Pathibhara Temple Cable Car Project Launched in Taplejung

The construction of the cable car leading to the renowned religious site, Pathibhara Temple in Taplejung, was officially inaugurated on Friday. The groundbreaking ceremony took place at Kaflepati, where Constituent Assembly member Dambar Dhwaj Tumbahamphe and Fungling Municipality Mayor Amir Maden performed a joint worship ritual before laying the foundation stone.

The event saw notable participation from representatives of various political parties, local residents, and officials, all of whom cheered in unison for the blessings of Pathibhara Devi. Indra Kadem, the head of the construction company, Himalaya Construction, shared the details of the inauguration.

“We have laid the foundation for the cable car project in the presence of representatives from all political parties, respected dignitaries, mayors, and locals. The work will proceed at a rapid pace from now,” said Kadem.

The cable car project is not just a venture of a single company but is closely linked to the economic, social, and cultural development of Taplejung and the entire Koshi Province. Mayor Maden emphasized that this project will serve as a cornerstone for the region’s economic prosperity and urged all stakeholders to cooperate to ensure its swift progression.

Before the inauguration, trees in the designated cable car construction area were removed, as confirmed by Rudra Paudel, a member of the cable car company’s executive committee. He also informed that the cable car service is expected to be operational within the next 15 months.

According to Paudel, the cable car will contribute significantly to tourism promotion, employment generation, environmental balance, and the overall economic and social development of the region.

The Pathibhara Temple cable car is expected to be a game-changer for Taplejung, enhancing both its religious significance and its accessibility, making it an essential addition to Nepal’s tourism infrastructure.
