Bandipur to Celebrate “Teej Week Festival” from Bhadra 16 to 23

Bandipur, celebrated as the “Queen of the Hills,” is gearing up to host the much-anticipated “Teej Week Festival” from Bhadra 16 to 23. This vibrant festival, organized by the Bandipur Teej Utsav Committee, is set to showcase the rich cultural heritage of the region and attract over 10,000 cultural tourists.

The week-long festival will feature a variety of events, including the “Big Open Teej Song Contest,” a Teej Cultural Concert, and a Teej Mahima Sermon. These activities aim to highlight the significance of Teej, a traditional Hindu festival, and provide a platform for showcasing local talent.

A key attraction of the festival will be the Teej song competition, which will take place at the historic Mankhad Devi Mandir. This ancient temple, renowned for its historical and spiritual significance, will host a contest where at least 30 teams will compete for top honors. The competition boasts a total cash prize pool of Rs 1,01,000 for the winner, with additional prizes of Rs 75,000 and Rs 50,000 for the second and third-place winners, respectively. All participating teams beyond the top three will receive Rs 25,000 each.

In addition to the cultural performances, the festival will introduce visitors to Bandipur’s notable religious sites, such as Siddeshwar Mahadev and Khadgadevi Temple. These local Shaktipeeths offer insights into the spiritual heritage of the region and provide a deeper understanding of the area’s religious practices.

Chandra Nirman Sewa Private Limited from Pokhara is the main sponsor of the event, with Design Station Private Limited from Kathmandu serving as the co-sponsor. To enhance the experience for visitors, Bandipur Cable Car will be offering special discounts to cultural tourists throughout the festival period.

The “Teej Week Festival” promises to be a grand celebration of Bandipur’s cultural and spiritual heritage, offering a unique experience for both locals and tourists alike.
