Barahi Hospitality’s portfolio of four hotels has been recognized at the South Asian Travel Awards (SATA), receiving several prestigious accolades.
The Barahi Kathmandu, a four-star hotel located in Thamel, Kathmandu, which began operations last year, won the Gold Award for the Best New Hotel in South Asia. This award highlights the hotel’s premium services and emerging reputation in the region.
In Sarangkot, Pokhara, the Sarangkot Mountain Lodge, nestled atop the ‘Natural View Point’ of Sarangkot, was awarded the title of Most Romantic Resort. Known for its stunning rooftop swimming pool offering views of Machhapuchhre, Himalayan ranges, and sunrise, alongside bathtubs with breathtaking views and cool mountain weather, the lodge has become a favorite for guests seeking both romance and nature.
Similarly, Barahi Jungle Lodge, an eco-friendly property in Meghauli, Chitwan, that offers the experience of staying in nature-inspired lodges, won the award for Leading Wildlife Resort. This lodge has become an outstanding destination for leisure tourism and wildlife experiences, offering an immersive escape into the natural beauty of Chitwan.
In Pokhara, the Aabas Pokhara, located on 9th Street, secured the award for Leading City Hotel with Less Than 40 Rooms. Known for its rooftop bar, infinity swimming pool, and budget-friendly appeal, Aabas Pokhara continues to attract guests looking for quality and affordability.

The South Asian Travel Awards (SATA), now in its 8th edition, is a prestigious recognition in South Asia’s hospitality sector. This year’s ceremony was held in Nepal in collaboration with the Hotel Association of Nepal (HAN). SATA has been honoring hotels and organizations that contribute to the region’s tourism sector annually. The event saw the participation of over 250 representatives from hotels, travel agencies, airlines, and media from six countries.
