Bhairahawa’s Star Hotels Witness High Occupancy Amid Rising Tourism

The Bhairahawa region has seen a surge in local, Indian, and international tourism, leading to increased occupancy rates in its star-rated hotels. Over the past month, hotels in the area reported 100% occupancy, fueled by destination weddings, FITs (Free Independent Travelers), and group travels.

The region’s hotels, particularly those with four-star ratings and above, have experienced significant demand, especially from Indian tourists attracted by their casinos. For instance, Tiger Palace by Soaltee achieved full occupancy in December and January, as reported by Nisha Thapa, the hotel’s senior sales executive. With over 100 rooms, the hotel’s popularity soared following the recent opening of its casino.

Similarly, Hotel Siddhartha Vilasa, managed by the Siddhartha Group, reported a 60% occupancy rate, with a notable influx of Indian tourists during December for destination weddings. The hotel’s director, Mahendra Neupane, revealed plans to open a casino soon, which is expected to boost tourism further.

Other star-rated hotels in the region, including Nance Hotel and Hotel Maurya, reported occupancy rates of over 80% in December. Their January bookings also remained strong, driven by increased tourist arrivals. Hotel Asian Buddha, located on Lumbini Road, reported an 85% booking rate in December and 70% for January, according to its general manager, Om Prakash Pandey.

Hotel Nirvana by Luxury International also witnessed over 80% occupancy, confirmed by its general manager, Pawan Goyal. The ancient hotel’s strategic location and offerings continue to draw a diverse range of tourists.

The recently opened Landmark Hotel in Bhairahawa is experiencing occupancy rates exceeding 80%, according to its chairman, Asha Gurung. Similarly, Bodhi Redshan Hotel has a 70% booking rate, with its director, Nikhil Yadav, noting an increase in foreign tourist arrivals to Lumbini.

Other popular hotels in the region, such as Dreamland Gold in Manigram and Pawan Palace in Lumbini, are also reporting high occupancy rates. The collective increase in tourist arrivals, casino visits, and pilgrimages to Lumbini is contributing to an overall occupancy rate of more than 80% for Bhairahawa’s star-rated hotels.

The remarkable growth in the hospitality sector reflects Bhairahawa’s emerging status as a prime tourism destination in Nepal.
