A tourism development project worth NPR 40 million has begun in Bhumethan, Dhairing, Jaljala Rural Municipality-7, Parbat, to promote the site as a religious and tourist destination. The Urban and Building Construction Project Office, Baglung, has undertaken the construction under a multi-year contract funded by the federal government.
The project includes the construction of gabion and masonry walls, stone paving, restrooms, and a 500-meter-long, 3-meter-wide trekking trail from Bhume Than to Baraha Shivalaya Temple. Additional retaining walls will be built in the Shivalaya area, with a target completion period of 18 months.
Jaljala Rural Municipality Chairperson Raju Prasad Acharya stated that the development aims to enhance religious tourism in Bhumethan, Gausala, Devalaya, and Shivalaya areas. Annually, over 50,000 devotees visit Bhumethan, believing that worshiping there fulfills their wishes.
An estimated NPR 110 million has been planned for the overall development, with NPR 40 million allocated for the first phase by the federal government. The local government also plans to integrate Bhumethan, Kalanjar Mountain, and Jaljala into a religious circuit. Increased religious tourism is expected after the completion of the infrastructure project.
