Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has expressed her desire to visit Nepal to offer prayers and seek blessings at the revered Pashupatinath Temple, one of the most sacred Hindu pilgrimage sites in the world. She shared her intention during a meeting with a delegation led by Nepali Member of Parliament Sandeep Rana, who represents Palpa Constituency No. 1.
Religious and Cultural Ties Highlighted
During the meeting, Delhi Chief Minister Gupta emphasized that the Pashupatinath Temple has served as a symbol of the centuries-old religious and cultural bond between Nepal and India. Delhi Chief Minister Gupta noted that the shared spiritual heritage between the two neighboring countries continues to strengthen people-to-people relations and promotes mutual respect for cultural traditions. Delhi Chief Minister Gupta also informed the delegation that she plans to visit Nepal in the near future to perform worship and pay her respects at the temple.
Discussions on Youth Cooperation and Bilateral Relations
According to MP Sandeep Rana, the meeting also focused on enhancing cooperation between the youth of Nepal and India and expanding the long-standing friendship between the two countries. The discussions explored opportunities for greater collaboration in development, cultural exchange, and strengthening bilateral ties.
The meeting took place while the Nepali delegation was in India to attend a program organized by the Nepalese People’s Relations Committee, affiliated with the Nepali Congress. The delegation included Nepali Congress Lumbini Province President Amar Singh Pun, Lumbini Province Assembly Member Nima Giri, Congress leader Sunita Kunwar, and youth leaders Sushant Acharya and Jeevan Tiwari.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s proposed visit to Pashupatinath Temple is expected to draw positive attention to Nepal as a leading destination for Hindu pilgrimage tourism.
