The fourth National Convention of the Nepal National Tourism Entrepreneurs Organization successfully concluded with the unanimous election of Rajendra Prasad Sapkota as the chairperson of a newly formed 41-member committee. Binod Sapkota, a member of the Tourism Valley Special District Committee, shared details of the elections, emphasizing the organization’s vision to strengthen Nepal’s tourism sector.
The new leadership team includes Senior Vice Chairperson Yam Bahadur Khadka and five Vice Chairpersons: Lila Bahadur Lama, Gopal Bahadur Bam, Chiranjivi Pokhrel, Ngawang Dawa Sherpa, and Mahesh Bhattarai. Ram Bahadur Khadka was chosen as the General Secretary, with Pradeep Acharya and Deepak Dahal appointed as Deputy General Secretaries.

Six members were elected as Secretaries: Ram Wali Das, Kul Chandra Pandey, Elina Magar, Dilli Ram Sharma Adhikari, Bhuwan Bahadur Pandey, and Balram Subedi. Bikram Bade was selected as Treasurer, alongside other committee members contributing to the organization’s strategic goals. The convention was a testament to the unity and commitment of tourism entrepreneurs in Nepal, laying a solid foundation for advancing the sector and fostering economic growth in the country.
During the inauguration of the fourth National Convention, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel highlighted the vital role of the tourism industry in Nepal’s economic development. Addressing the gathering, Minister Poudel described tourism as a cornerstone of the nation’s economy and committed the government to solving the sector’s long-term challenges.

“Tourism is a critical pillar for the nation’s economic growth. The government is dedicated to resolving the sector’s challenges sustainably,” said Minister Poudel. He also pointed out that efforts to identify and address tourism-related issues have already begun under the current administration.
Minister Poudel underscored the immense potential of Nepal’s tourism industry, emphasizing the need to maximize its resources and internationalize attractions to attract a larger number of global visitors. The convention thus served as a platform to align the efforts of the government and private sector, working together to strengthen the tourism industry and boost the nation’s economy.
