Thousands of devotees have been thronging the Pashupatinath Temple and other Lord Shiva temples across the country since early this morning. The influx of worshippers is particularly significant today as the month of Shrawan and Mondays are considered highly auspicious for offering prayers to Lord Shiva.
At the Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu, the atmosphere is charged with devotion as worshippers arrive in large numbers to offer their prayers. The Pashupati Area Development Trust has made comprehensive arrangements to accommodate the influx of devotees and “Bol Bum” revelers. Measures include enhanced security, volunteer mobilization, organized worship management, and the provision of health camps, drinking water, and other essential services for the comfort of visitors.
In addition to Pashupatinath, devotees have been gathering since dawn at various sacred sites across the country to take holy dips and offer prayers. These sites include Gokarneshwor, Santaneshwor, Doleshwor, Kirateswor, Bhaleshwor, Sanga in Kavrepalanchowk, Devghat in Tanahun, and Galeshwor in Myagdi.
The widespread participation of devotees underscores the deep spiritual significance of Shrawan Mondays, as worshippers seek blessings from Lord Shiva for prosperity, health, and fulfillment of their wishes. The organized efforts by temple authorities and local communities have ensured a smooth and peaceful environment for the devotees to carry out their rituals.
