In a transformative initiative by the National Trust for Nature Conservation (NTNC), seven students from the Institute of Forestry, Pokhara, have embarked on an intensive four-month journey across seven different Unit Conservation Offices of the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP), spanning from Lwang to Lomangthang.
This hands-on program is designed to immerse the students in the intricate balance of integrated conservation and development practices. Over the course of their placement, the students will engage with diverse aspects of conservation efforts, community interactions, and sustainable development projects under ACAP’s framework.
The initiative highlights NTNC’s commitment to nurturing and empowering the next generation of conservation leaders, equipping them with practical skills and real-world experience to address the pressing challenges of biodiversity preservation and sustainable development.
This endeavor not only strengthens the students’ academic foundation but also reinforces the importance of youth involvement in Nepal’s conservation efforts, fostering a brighter future for the country’s rich natural heritage.
