The Expedition Operators Association Nepal (EOAN) and its member companies have collectively contributed Rs. 38.23 lakh to support people affected by the devastating natural disaster in the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli river areas.
The mountain tourism community expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and property caused by the disaster and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. It also expressed solidarity with those injured, displaced and affected by the catastrophe.
EOAN Leads Humanitarian Support
As part of its social, humanitarian and national responsibility, Expedition Operators Association Nepal decided to provide Rs. 11,11,111 (Rs. 11.11 lakh) to the government’s disaster relief efforts.
The decision was taken by the Expedition Operators Association Nepal Executive Committee in view of the scale of the disaster and the difficulties faced by affected communities.
The initiative was carried out in the presence of Mingma David Sherpa and under the leadership of Expedition Operators Association Nepal President Dambar Parajuli, with the participation of Rishi Bhandari, General Secretary of Expedition Operators Association Nepal, and representatives of member companies.
Member Companies Make Significant Contributions
The humanitarian campaign received additional voluntary financial support from EOAN member companies and tourism entrepreneurs. The contributions received so far are as follows:

The total contribution amounts to Rs. 38,23,225, based on the individual amounts provided by EOAN and its member companies.
Tourism Entrepreneurs Participate in Relief Initiative
The relief initiative also brought together prominent representatives from EOAN and its member companies. Jiban Ghimire, owner of Shangri-La Nepal Trek and an EOAN Board Member; Govinda Gurung, owner of Tag Nepal and an EOAN member; and Santosh Ghimire, Manager of Iceland Trekking & Expedition, were among those involved in the contribution initiative.
The participation of tourism entrepreneurs reflects the mountain tourism sector’s collective commitment to supporting communities during national emergencies.
Contribution Handed Over to Government Relief Fund
The cheques representing the contributions were handed over to the Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation to be deposited into the concerned disaster relief fund of the Government of Nepal.
EOAN said the contribution was not merely a financial donation but a reflection of the mountain tourism community’s compassion, solidarity and responsibility toward fellow citizens affected by the disaster.
The association also expressed respect for the efforts being undertaken by the Government of Nepal for search and rescue, relief distribution, rehabilitation and recovery.
EOAN Pledges Continued Support
EOAN said it and its affiliated businesses would continue to work closely with the government during future national disasters and humanitarian crises.
The association urged the concerned authorities to ensure that the assistance reaches affected families and communities and contributes effectively to relief and rehabilitation.
The collective contribution, EOAN said, demonstrates the mountain tourism sector’s commitment to standing with affected communities and fulfilling its social and humanitarian responsibilities during times of crisis.
