Expo Tourism professionals from Nepal, China, and India are gathering in Pokhara to foster business partnerships. The meeting aims to promote the tourism sector and is considered highly significant for Pokhara’s tourism industry. This event serves as a platform for stakeholders to explore collaborative opportunities, exchange ideas, and strengthen regional tourism ties. With a focus on sustainable tourism and business networking, the expo is expected to enhance Pokhara’s appeal as a premier travel destination.
The gathering, named the Nepal-India-China Expo (NICE), will take place over three days, starting on Monday. Attendees will share tourism experiences and seek opportunities for professional collaboration. The event is supported by organizations like the PATA Nepal Chapter and the Pokhara Tourism Council, with around 140 participants from Nepal, 30 from India, and 55 from China expected to attend.

The expo will also host discussions with tourism experts from various countries. Participants will explore the scenic areas of Pokhara, enjoying adventure tourism products as part of the experience. This expo is the first of its kind in Nepal and is designed to strengthen marketing ties among tourism professionals, making it easier to send visitors to Pokhara in the future.

According to PATA Nepal, the expo will enhance the marketing of Nepali tourism to India and China, which are vital source markets. It is anticipated that the event will help promote adventure tourism and establish Pokhara as a destination for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE).
The tourism board reported that in 2024, over 317,772 Indian tourists and 101,879 Chinese visitors arrived in Nepal. The gathering of leading tourism businesses from these three countries will provide a significant opportunity for Nepal to promote itself in these markets.
