A feasibility study for a disabled-friendly trekking route at Jamacho, a popular hiking destination in Kathmandu, is set to be conducted. The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) is collaborating with the Nepali Army and the Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation for this initiative. NTB has allocated Rs 300,000 for the project in the current fiscal year 2081–82.
The four-kilometer hiking trail, located in Shivapuri-Nagarjun National Park, is especially busy on public holidays. Jamacho, situated at 2,130 meters on Nagarjuna Hill, is home to a Buddhist monastery and offers a stunning 360-degree view of the Kathmandu Valley and surrounding mountain ranges.
