A devastating fire broke out late last night at a hotel situated on the shores of Rara Lake, resulting in the complete destruction of four wooden buildings. According to reports, the fire severely damaged the structures, all of which were primarily made of wood, making them highly susceptible to the flames.
The fire was brought under control early this morning by a coordinated effort involving the Nepal Army, local government employees, Nepal Police, and the Armed Police Force. As soon as information about the fire reached the authorities, a team of 15 police personnel, led by Deputy Inspector Deepak K.C., was dispatched from the district headquarters in Gamgadhi to the incident site.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire originated from the hotel’s kitchen. The situation worsened when gas cylinders exploded, causing the flames to spread to three additional buildings. The rapid spread of the fire made it difficult to contain, leading to extensive property damage.
Authorities acted swiftly to ensure the safety of guests staying at the hotel. Nepal Police, the Nepal Army, and the Armed Police Force immediately evacuated the tourists and hotel staff to nearby hotels, army barracks, and the Rara National Park office for safety.
Further investigations are underway to determine the full extent of the damage and the exact cause of the fire. Additional details will be provided as they become available.
