Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Badri Pandey, announced that the government is preparing to introduce a new tourism policy to ensure the comprehensive development of Nepal’s tourism sector.
Speaking at the 26th anniversary celebration of the Nepal Tourism Board held today, Minister Pandey emphasized the need for a policy framework to guide the overall tourism industry. He highlighted the importance of operating the Tourism Board under a public-private partnership (PPP) model to attract more tourists effectively.
Minister Pandey also declared the beginning of a “Tourism Decade” starting tomorrow, aimed at enhancing tourism activities over the next ten years. “Our country is rich in ethnic, linguistic, religious, and cultural diversity, as well as geographic variety. Preserving unity, tolerance, and harmony within this diversity is essential for the growth of the tourism sector,” he stated.
This policy initiative and decade-long focus on tourism aim to position Nepal as a premier destination by leveraging its unique cultural and natural assets.
