Himalayan Royal Pokhara Tours & Travels Pvt. Ltd., a company known for operating premium bus services in Nepal, is set to launch a luxury Pokhara–Delhi–Pokhara bus service under the brand name “Sanyukta Himalayan” from Shrawan 10 (Sunday). The new cross-border service is expected to improve connectivity between Nepal’s tourism capital, Pokhara, and India’s national capital, Delhi, offering travelers a comfortable and convenient overland travel option.

Five Luxury Buses to Begin Regular Operations
According to the company’s Chairman Anil Thapa, approximately Rs. 70 million has been invested in the new service. He said the company will initially operate five luxury buses on a regular schedule. The buses will depart daily from Zero Kilometer, Kaski, at 6:30 a.m., traveling via Narayangadh before continuing to Delhi. Thapa expressed confidence that the premium facilities available on the buses would provide passengers with a safer and more comfortable travel experience.

Service Expected to Benefit Tourism and Cross-Border Mobility
The company believes the new service will cater to a wide range of travelers, including tourists, businesspeople, students, patients seeking medical treatment, and families traveling between Nepal and India. Patron of the company, Yogendra Bahadur KC, said the direct bus connection would make travel between Pokhara and Delhi more accessible while strengthening people-to-people ties between the two countries.

He added that linking Pokhara directly with Delhi would contribute to tourism promotion, expand business cooperation, and improve transport connectivity between Nepal and India. “This service will make travel easier for passengers visiting for trade, education, medical treatment, tourism, and family purposes. It will also contribute to tourism promotion, business collaboration, and the modernization of the transportation sector in both countries,” KC said.

Expansion Inspired by Success of Kathmandu–Delhi Route
The company said the decision to introduce the Pokhara–Delhi service follows the positive response to the existing Kathmandu–Delhi luxury bus service, which has become a preferred travel option for many passengers. By extending similar services from Pokhara, the company aims to provide greater travel convenience while supporting cross-border tourism and economic activities. Industry stakeholders believe the direct luxury bus service could help strengthen tourism exchanges between Nepal and India by improving access to Pokhara, one of Nepal’s leading tourist destinations. The initiative is also expected to support regional trade, facilitate easier movement of travelers, and contribute to the growing demand for quality international road transport services.
