Historic Heritage Walk Concludes in Madhyapur Thimi

The ‘Heritage Walk,’ aimed at providing insights into the historical art, culture, and heritage of Madhyapur Thimi, concluded successfully today.

The event, organized by tourist guides, featured a tour of heritage sites and historic settlements. The walk began at the historic Bhafalcha in Shankhadhar Chowk and passed through several significant locations, including Bal Kumari Lokeshwar, Layaku, Digu Baha, the pottery area of Chapacho, Nyaga, Lachi in Nagadesh, Lun Jya (Golden Window), Bode’s Lachi, Pancho, Bhangu, and Tigani Nilbarahi, before concluding.

The walk also served as a platform to promote the upcoming Madhyapur Festival, which is set to take place on Poush 12, 13, and 14. The event saw participation from Madhyapur Thimi Mayor Surendra Shrestha, local representatives, tourist guides, and residents.

Mayor Shrestha highlighted that the municipality is hosting the three-day festival with the goal of linking local art, culture, heritage, lifestyle, and traditional occupations with tourism. This initiative aims to enhance the income of locals and contribute to the development of a prosperous Madhyapur Thimi. He expressed confidence that the festival would not only promote the area’s religious and cultural heritage but also significantly boost tourism.
