Hidden Risks Beneath the Ice

Despite appearing solid, the lake contains deep water beneath the ice, increasing the risk of sudden breakage. The Gosainkunda Rural Municipality has warned that walking on the frozen surface could result in falling into the water. The municipality has specifically requested that visitors maintain a safe distance from the ice and avoid disrupting religious activities on the lake. Chairman Kaisang Nurpu Tamang emphasized the importance of respecting the sanctity of the site while prioritizing safety.
