Koshi Province is set to observe the upcoming year as ‘Tourism Year 2082,’ with a grand inauguration on March 27 at Tinjure Milke in Tehrathum. Private sector entrepreneurs are optimistic about the initiative, expecting it to boost tourism promotion, preservation, and policy-making.

Officials emphasize the province’s diverse attractions, from the lowlands of Kachankawal to Mount Everest. Improved infrastructure, including the Asian Highway network, is expected to facilitate tourist inflow.

Tourism entrepreneurs stress the need for widespread promotional activities beyond major cities like Biratnagar and Dharan. Conservationists highlight Nepal’s bird tourism potential, with 530 bird species found in the Koshi Tappu region.

Authorities call for collaboration to develop tourism-related infrastructure and policies, aiming to enhance economic activities and attract more visitors.
