Malaysia Airlines has strengthened its European travel network through a new codeshare partnership with SNCF Voyageurs, France’s national railway operator, enabling passengers to connect from Paris to 28 destinations across France through the country’s high-speed rail network.
Effective July 10, 2026, passengers arriving at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) on Malaysia Airlines flights can book onward rail journeys together with their international flights through the airline’s official booking channels. The integrated air-and-rail journey will be issued under a single ticket, offering passengers a more convenient and streamlined way to travel beyond Paris.

Direct Rail Connections to 28 French Destinations
The partnership will connect Malaysia Airlines passengers with some of France’s most popular cities, including Lyon, Marseille, Strasbourg, Lille, and Rennes, along with numerous other regional destinations. Under the new arrangement, travelers will no longer need to make separate arrangements for their onward train journey after arriving in Paris. The integrated booking system will allow passengers to manage their international flight and domestic rail journey through one reservation, making travel planning easier and more efficient.
Simplifying Travel Beyond Paris
The new partnership is expected to benefit both international tourists and business travelers seeking to explore destinations beyond the French capital. By combining air travel with France’s extensive high-speed rail network, passengers can enjoy coordinated travel arrangements, simplified ticketing, and a more seamless journey from Asia to destinations across France. The arrangement also provides greater flexibility for travelers who want to visit multiple cities during a single trip without relying on additional domestic flights.

Expanding Connectivity Through Multimodal Travel
The collaboration reflects Malaysia Airlines’ broader strategy of expanding its international connectivity through multimodal transportation partnerships. Instead of relying solely on additional flight routes, the airline is using Europe’s extensive railway infrastructure to connect passengers with a wider range of destinations.
This approach enables airlines to offer greater travel choices while helping passengers reach regional cities efficiently from major international gateways. SNCF Voyageurs operates one of Europe’s largest rail networks, including high-speed TGV services and regional trains connecting major cities and communities throughout France.

Supporting More Sustainable Travel
The partnership also supports the growing global shift toward more sustainable transportation. By encouraging passengers to use rail services for domestic connections instead of short-haul flights, the collaboration can help reduce unnecessary air travel and associated carbon emissions. High-speed rail offers an efficient and environmentally friendly alternative for many journeys within France, while also providing travelers with a comfortable and convenient way to explore the country.
Strengthening Asia-Europe Travel Links
The Malaysia Airlines-SNCF Voyageurs partnership comes as demand for integrated air-and-rail travel continues to grow. The collaboration provides international travelers with a more connected journey from Asia to France, allowing them to reach destinations beyond Paris through a single booking process. As airlines and railway operators increasingly cooperate to create integrated transport networks, such partnerships are expected to play a growing role in the future of international travel. The new Malaysia Airlines and SNCF Voyageurs codeshare agreement marks another step toward creating a more seamless, flexible, and sustainable travel experience for passengers traveling between Asia and Europe.
