Expedition teams operating across Pakistan’s Karakoram range have resumed activities after several challenging days of weather between July 12 and 14, with improved conditions now allowing climbers to continue acclimatization rotations and route-fixing operations across several major peaks.

Stable Weather Window Opens Opportunities on Gasherbrum

The teams on Gasherbrum I (G1) and Gasherbrum II (G2) are taking advantage of a period of stable weather expected to continue until July 21. The expedition teams are preparing to make summit pushes on Gasherbrum II first, followed by Gasherbrum I. In collaboration with the 14 Peaks Expedition team, the route-fixing team has successfully established Camp II on Gasherbrum I and is continuing its progress toward Camp III.

K2 Expedition Reaches Another Major Milestone

Significant progress has also been reported on K2, the world’s second-highest mountain.
