Manang Welcomes Over 40,000 Tourists in FY 2082/83

Manang welcomed a total of 40,377 tourists during the fiscal year 2082/83, marking a positive increase from the 37,336 visitors recorded in the previous fiscal year.

The latest figures indicate growing interest in Manang and the Annapurna Circuit, one of Nepal’s most popular mountain tourism destinations.

More Than 34,000 Tourists Arrive from Non-SAARC Countries

According to the tourist arrival data, 34,312 visitors from 111 non-SAARC countries travelled to Manang during the fiscal year.

The non-SAARC visitors included 19,706 males, 14,593 females, and 13 visitors categorized under other genders.

Israel was the largest source market among non-SAARC countries, with 3,893 visitors, followed by France with 3,013 and Germany with 2,644 visitors.

India Leads SAARC Tourist Arrivals

A total of 6,065 tourists from seven SAARC countries visited Manang during the fiscal year. The group included 5,024 male and 1,041 female visitors.

Among SAARC countries, India remained the largest source market, contributing 5,424 visitors. Bangladesh ranked second with 600 visitors, while Sri Lanka recorded 24 visitors.

Growing Popularity of Annapurna Circuit

The continued rise in tourist arrivals, particularly from the SAARC region, highlights the growing popularity of Manang and the Annapurna Circuit as premier mountain tourism destinations.

The increasing visitor numbers also underscore the importance of continued conservation efforts, sustainable tourism management, and improvements in visitor services within the Annapurna Conservation Area.
