National Rafting Championship 2081 to Promote Adventure Tourism

Gandaki Province Sports Council has announced the organization of the National Rafting Championship 2081 (Ultra Rafting Marathon) as part of its annual development program. The competition, scheduled for Magh 16 and 17, aims to elevate rafting from being merely an adventure tourism activity to a recognized national-level sport.

The championship will take place along the Trishuli River, starting from Manakamana (Fishling) and concluding at Devghat. Interested teams have been invited to participate in the event. Each team must consist of seven players and is required to arrange its own equipment, including life jackets, helmets, paddles, and rafts.

Strict rules apply to the competition, with all participants mandated to be skilled swimmers. The use of alcohol is strictly prohibited. Winning teams will receive cash prizes, medals, and certificates in recognition of their achievement.

This initiative marks a significant step in promoting adventure tourism while fostering a competitive spirit among rafting enthusiasts in Nepal.
