The Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) Gandaki Province has provided Rs. 176,319 to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund to support relief and rehabilitation efforts for people affected by the recent floods and landslides in Rasuwa. A team representing Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents Gandaki handed over the voucher for the contribution to Kumar Singh Gurung, Chief District Officer of Kaski, at the District Administration Office in Pokhara.
Tourism Sector Extends Disaster Support
The contribution was handed over on Wednesday by a team coordinated by Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents Gandaki Second Vice President Bishwaraj Acharya. NATTA Gandaki President Sangita Poudel, former president and First Vice President of the Tourism Council Hari Ram Adhikari, along with other office-bearers and members, were present during the handover.
NATTA Gandaki President Sangita Poudel said supporting citizens affected by disasters is a social responsibility and emphasized the association’s continued commitment to contributing to national efforts for relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction. She also said NATTA Gandaki is preparing to provide essential goods, clothing and other physical materials to affected communities based on their needs.
Funds to Support Rasuwa Recovery
The amount deposited through the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund is expected to support relief, rescue and rehabilitation efforts for communities affected by the Rasuwa floods and landslides. NATTA Gandaki currently has around 163 members and represents travel and tour operators working in Nepal’s tourism sector.
