In a major step toward enhancing bilateral ties, AMS Music and Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. has announced the upcoming Nepal–Korea Cultural, Tourism, and Educational Exhibition to be held in Seoul, South Korea, this coming November. The event aims to foster deeper cooperation between Nepal and South Korea across culture, tourism, education, and trade.
The announcement was made today at a press conference in Kathmandu, where AMS Chairperson Satyakala Tamang Lama shared details about the event. She highlighted that the exhibition will showcase Nepali culture, cuisine, handicrafts, and also provide a platform for discussions on education and labor opportunities, which are important pillars of Nepal-Korea relations.
A Multi-Dimensional Platform for Bilateral Exchange
Speaking at the event, Chairperson Lama stated, “The program is being organized with the intention of promoting cultural exchange, boosting tourism, displaying Nepali goods, and discussing educational and labor issues. We believe this initiative will contribute significantly to strengthening the relationship between Nepal and South Korea.”
The event is being jointly organized with support from the World Peace Union and Service Oriented Interactive Video Application, and will include special performances by renowned Nepali national artists, showcasing Nepal’s rich musical and artistic heritage to an international audience.
Strengthening Longstanding Diplomatic Relations
Purba Gyalbo Moktan (Thupten), Managing Director of AMS Music and Entertainment, highlighted the potential of the exhibition to bolster Nepal’s global image. “Nepal and South Korea have enjoyed strong diplomatic ties for many years. This event will not only promote Nepal’s culture and tourism in Korea but will also serve to deepen mutual understanding and forge stronger people-to-people ties,” Moktan said.
He also added that by hosting such platforms, Nepal can attract more South Korean tourists and investors, helping to diversify its tourism market and create new trade linkages.
Partnership Agreements to Foster Collaboration
During the press event, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between AMS Music and Entertainment and the World Peace Union Organization, represented by World Peace Ambassador and Nepal Goodwill Ambassador Yosef Kang. The agreement outlines mutual collaboration for the successful execution of the November exhibition.
Ambassador Kang expressed his belief that the event will serve as a bridge between the two countries. “We have organized similar programs in several countries. This event will be an opportunity to strengthen peaceful international relations through culture, food, education, and trade. We hope this program becomes a gateway to deepening Nepal-Korea friendship,” he said.
Academic Opportunities for Nepali Students
Also present at the event were professors from Chungwoon University and Seoul Jangsung University in South Korea. Professor Songsuk Cho shared insights about South Korea as a growing hub for higher education and encouraged Nepali students to explore academic opportunities in Korean institutions. He highlighted the universities’ openness to international students and the quality of education available in South Korea.
This academic aspect of the event is expected to draw students, educators, and institutional representatives, offering counseling, information booths, and direct interactions with Korean universities.

Building on Past Success
AMS Music and Entertainment has prior experience organizing such international events. The company has successfully held similar exhibitions in Japan, Dubai, and China, aiming to elevate Nepal’s cultural and tourism profile in those regions. These past events have helped connect Nepali businesses with international markets and created cultural bridges that outlast the events themselves.
Chairperson Lama emphasized that this year’s program in Seoul will be even more impactful, given the growing interest in Nepal among South Korean travelers and students, and the strong presence of Nepali workers and students already living in Korea.
Looking Ahead: A Vision for Stronger Nepal-Korea Relations
With Nepal and South Korea already sharing decades of diplomatic relations, events like this exhibition are seen as crucial in redefining the partnership for the 21st century. Cultural diplomacy, tourism development, academic partnerships, and trade collaboration are all critical components of this evolving relationship.
As preparations move forward for the November exhibition in Seoul, organizers hope that the event will not only highlight Nepal’s rich heritage and tourism potential but also pave the way for long-term collaborations in business, education, and culture between the two nations.
In a world increasingly defined by soft power and cultural engagement, the Nepal–Korea Cultural, Tourism, and Educational Expo promises to be a milestone event, reflecting Nepal’s rising global aspirations and its desire to build meaningful ties across borders.
