Breaking: Nepal Rastra Bank Sets New Foreign Exchange Rates for Monday

Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has announced the foreign exchange rates for today, determining the buying and selling rates of various international currencies against the Nepalese Rupee (NPR). The central bank has stated that these rates may be revised as per necessity and that commercial banks may set slightly different rates based on market conditions. The latest exchange rates are also available on NRB’s official website for reference.

According to the exchange rate fixed by Nepal Rastra Bank, the buying rate of one U.S. Dollar (USD) stands at NPR 138.90, while the selling rate has been set at NPR 139.50. The U.S. Dollar remains a widely used foreign currency in Nepal, influencing trade, remittances, and foreign transactions.

The European currency, the Euro (EUR), has been set at a buying rate of NPR 151.13 and a selling rate of NPR 151.78. Similarly, the British Pound Sterling (GBP), one of the strongest global currencies, is being traded at a buying rate of NPR 179.65 and a selling rate of NPR 180.42. The Swiss Franc (CHF), which is widely recognized for its stability, has a buying rate of NPR 156.90 and a selling rate of NPR 157.58.

Among other major currencies, the Australian Dollar (AUD) has been set at NPR 87.83 for buying and NPR 88.21 for selling, while the Canadian Dollar (CAD) stands at a buying rate of NPR 96.66 and a selling rate of NPR 97.08. The Singapore Dollar (SGD) is currently valued at NPR 104.13 for buying and NPR 104.58 for selling.

Exchange Rates for Asian Currencies

The central bank has also released exchange rates for several Asian currencies, which are widely used in trade, travel, and remittances. The Japanese Yen (JPY) has been set at NPR 9.35 per 10 units for buying and NPR 9.39 for selling. The Chinese Yuan (CNY) stands at NPR 19.19 for buying and NPR 19.27 for selling.

Similarly, the Saudi Arabian Riyal (SAR) is being traded at NPR 37.04 for buying and NPR 37.20 for selling. The Qatari Riyal (QAR) has a buying rate of NPR 38.11 and a selling rate of NPR 38.27. The United Arab Emirates Dirham (AED) is fixed at NPR 37.82 for buying and NPR 37.98 for selling.

For those dealing in Thai Baht (THB), the buying rate has been determined at NPR 4.13, while the selling rate is NPR 4.15. Similarly, the Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) is being traded at NPR 31.24 for buying and NPR 31.37 for selling. The South Korean Won (KRW) has been set at NPR 9.57 per 100 units for buying and NPR 9.61 for selling.

Exchange Rates for Scandinavian Currencies

Nepal Rastra Bank has also specified the exchange rates for Scandinavian currencies. The Swedish Krona (SEK) has a buying rate of NPR 13.70 and a selling rate of NPR 13.76. Meanwhile, the Danish Krone (DKK) is valued at NPR 20.25 for buying and NPR 20.34 for selling.

Exchange Rates for Middle Eastern and South Asian Currencies

The exchange rate for the Hong Kong Dollar (HKD) has been set at NPR 17.87 for buying and NPR 17.95 for selling. The Kuwaiti Dinar (KWD), which is one of the highest-valued currencies globally, has a buying rate of NPR 450.87 and a selling rate of NPR 452.82. Similarly, the Bahraini Dinar (BHD) stands at NPR 368.47 for buying and NPR 370.07 for selling. The Omani Rial (OMR), another high-value currency, has a buying rate of NPR 360.77 and a selling rate of NPR 362.33.

For Nepal’s closest neighbor, India, the exchange rate for 100 Indian Rupees (INR) has been fixed at NPR 160.00 for buying and NPR 160.15 for selling. Given the strong economic ties between Nepal and India, the exchange rate of the Indian Rupee is crucial for cross-border trade and financial transactions.

NRB’s Statement on Exchange Rate Adjustments

Nepal Rastra Bank has stated that these exchange rates are subject to revision at any time based on economic conditions and foreign currency demand. The central bank regularly updates the exchange rates to maintain stability in the financial sector.

It has also mentioned that the exchange rates set by commercial banks may differ slightly from those issued by NRB. Those engaging in foreign currency exchange, including businesses, travelers, and remittance recipients, are advised to check the latest rates on the official NRB website or consult with their respective banks before conducting transactions.
