In an effort to promote tourism and attract a larger number of visitors from neighboring countries India and China, Nepal is set to host the ‘Nepal India China Expo (NICE–2025)‘. The event will be held from 12th to 14th Falgun 2081 in Pokhara, as announced by the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Nepal Chapter.
The expo is being organized with support from key tourism stakeholders, including the Nepal Tourism Board, Ministry of Industry, Tourism, and Civil Aviation (Gandaki Province), Pokhara Metropolitan City, Pokhara Tourism Council, and various other tourism-related organizations.
According to Suresh Singh Budal, Chief Executive Officer of PATA Nepal Chapter, the expo will witness the participation of over 100 buyers, 80 sellers, 25+ journalists, and expert speakers from India and China, with overall attendance exceeding 1,000 people. The primary objective of the event is to promote Nepal’s tourism potential and business opportunities to two of the world’s largest economies and tourism source markets—India and China.
With the theme ‘Nice for MICE and More’, the expo will not only highlight Pokhara’s potential as a trekking and adventure tourism hub but also promote it as an attractive destination for MICE tourism (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions, and Events). PATA emphasized the importance of promoting Pokhara as a venue for business events, weddings, festivals, and exhibitions, expanding its appeal beyond just adventure tourism.
The expo coordinator, Sunil Bhattarai, expressed confidence that by inviting tourism-related businesses and government officials from China and India, the event will create a significant platform for business promotion, networking, and the exploration of new dimensions in tri-country tourism.
The Mayor of Pokhara Metropolitan City, Dhanraj Acharya, highlighted the importance of the expo in significantly boosting Pokhara’s tourism industry. Similarly, Deepak Raj Joshi, CEO of the Nepal Tourism Board, expressed hope that connecting buyers and sellers from the two major tourism markets would provide an essential avenue for exchanging tourist experiences and promoting tourism.
Taranath Pahari, President of the Pokhara Tourism Council, emphasized the need for active participation from all sectors to make the event a special and impactful success.
