The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) successfully participated in the Nepal Festival Delhi 2025, held from April 11 to 13 at the Embassy of Nepal Grounds in New Delhi, India. Organized by the Everest Chamber of Commerce & Industries in collaboration with the Embassy of Nepal in New Delhi, the event aimed to strengthen cultural and economic ties between Nepal and India.
The festival was inaugurated by India’s Honorable Union Minister of Culture, Mr. Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, it’s Minister for Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs, Mr. Ajay Chaurasiya, and Ambassador of Nepal to India, Dr. Shankar Prasad Sharma. Their joint presence underscored the shared commitment to promoting regional trade, tourism, and people-to-people connections.

Over the three days, the festival hosted several plenary sessions featuring prominent policymakers, intellectuals, and tourism experts from both countries. A key session, “Strengthening Sustainable Tourism: Promoting Religious, Heritage & Adventure Tourism,” featured NTB’s Senior Director Mr. Hikmat Singh Ayer. He emphasized initiatives to ease cross-border travel for Indian tourists and outlined it’s vision of integrating spiritual and adventure tourism for long-term growth.

The panel included distinguished speakers such as former Chief Secretary Mr. Leelamani Paudyal, India’s Deputy Director General of Tourism Dr. R.K. Suman, and tourism and business leaders from both countries. The session was moderated by Indian aviation and tourism expert Dr. Subhash Goyal.

NTB’s pavilion was a major attraction, highlighting it’s rich offerings in culture, nature, adventure, spiritual, and wellness tourism. Promotional materials, souvenirs, and information were distributed to visitors. The festival also featured authentic Nepali cuisine, handicrafts, and local products, giving attendees a taste of it’s cultural richness. Stalls from India contributed to a vibrant cross-cultural celebration.
As India remains it’s largest tourism source market, NTB reaffirmed its commitment to deepening collaboration and tapping into the growing interest in cross-border travel. NTB was represented by Mr. Hikmat Singh Ayer, Senior Director, and Mr. Sagar Upadhyaya, Senior Officer.
