Nepal Tourism Board Takes Active Steps to Promote Tourism Globally

The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has intensified efforts to promote Nepal as a premier destination in the global tourism market. By actively participating in various international trade fairs, NTB aims to present Nepal as a leading adventure and cultural tourism hub.

In a press release issued today, NTB highlighted its participation in prestigious international tourism fairs, including the Adventure Travel Show in London, Vakantiebeurs in the Netherlands, CMT in Germany, FITUR in Spain, OTM in India, and Matka in Finland. These platforms have played a crucial role in showcasing Nepal’s diverse offerings, such as adventure travel, cultural heritage, and sustainable tourism.

The events witnessed enthusiastic participation from Nepal’s tourism entrepreneurs, who used the opportunity to present their services to international stakeholders. According to NTB, the collaboration between the public and private sectors has been instrumental in strengthening global tourist promotion, building relationships with travel companies, and paving the way for mutual growth.

Visitors to the Nepal stalls showed significant interest, engaging with travel representatives to learn about the country’s religious and natural treasures. NTB’s Chief Executive Officer, Deepak Raj Joshi, stated that Nepal was well-represented in these January events, with remarkable participation from Nepalese companies.

At the Adventure Travel Show in London, seven companies, in collaboration with NTB, promoted Nepal as a leading destination for adventure and cultural tourism. Similarly, eight companies participated in Finland’s Matka fair, while seven represented Nepal in Germany’s CMT. In Spain’s FITUR, 27 companies showcased Nepal’s offerings, and 28 companies are set to participate in India’s OTM, scheduled for January 30–31 in Mumbai.

The Nepalese delegation captivated diverse audiences by highlighting the country’s religious and natural heritage, Himalayan trekking experiences, spiritual encounters, vibrant festivals, and rich biodiversity. NTB’s CEO Joshi emphasized that major international fairs play a vital role in establishing Nepal as a unique travel destination.

“Nepal is not just a destination; it is an experience that touches the soul,” Joshi remarked. “Through our participation in these international travel fairs, we are positioning Nepal as a must-visit destination. We believe that collaboration with tourism service providers will enhance promotion efforts and improve the country’s economic status.”

Joshi further added that NTB is committed to leading Nepal’s international tourism promotion while fostering sustainable and inclusive growth in the sector through partnerships and cooperation.

With its active involvement in global tourism events, NTB has strengthened Nepal’s presence in the international market, aiming to attract a greater number of tourists and contribute to the nation’s economic development.
