The Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) has announced a revision in peak royalty fees, effective from September 1, 2024 (2081/05/16). The updated fees will apply to both foreign and Nepali climbers.

According to the new structure, foreign climbers attempting peaks of 6,500 meters or lower will be charged $350 during the spring season and $175 during the autumn, winter, and summer seasons. For Nepali climbers, the fee is set at NPR 20,000 in the spring, NPR 10,000 in autumn, and NPR 5,000 in winter and summer. The garbage deposit policy remains unchanged.

Additionally, the NMA has introduced an insurance package covering accidental, medical, and heli rescue services for mountain guides, effective from March 1, 2025. The package is priced at NPR 8,500 per year, with an optional additional coverage of NPR 2,000 for senior climbers. The NMA emphasizes its commitment to supporting mountaineering professionals and ensuring their safety during expeditions.
