Breaking Weather Update: Cloudy Conditions with Rain and Snow Expected in Nepal

The Weather Forecasting Division has issued a nationwide weather update, stating that Nepal will experience partly to generally cloudy conditions throughout the day, especially in hilly and mountainous areas. The current atmospheric activity is attributed to the influence of westerly and local winds, as well as moisture-laden air masses arriving from the Bay of Bengal.

According to the Division, light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely in several parts of the hilly region. Meanwhile, other areas of the country may witness scattered showers, though with lesser intensity. In higher elevations, including the high hilly and mountainous regions, light rainfall and snowfall are also anticipated at a few locations.

The Division further mentioned that as the evening progresses, the weather pattern is expected to continue with similar trends. The hilly regions will likely remain partly to generally cloudy, while most other areas will experience clearer skies. Despite this, the risk of isolated thunderstorms and lightning persists in some parts of the country.

Tonight, there remains a possibility of light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning at a few places in the hilly region and at one or two locations elsewhere. Light snowfall is also expected to continue at some high-altitude locations.

The Weather Forecasting Division has advised residents and travelers in affected areas to remain alert for sudden weather changes, especially in the hills and mountains where conditions can rapidly shift. Trekkers and tourists visiting high-altitude regions are also advised to stay informed through regular weather updates.
