The Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) – Area Conservation Office in Jomsom organized a comprehensive “Coordination and Interaction Program with Stakeholders” on Mangsir 3, 2081. The program centered on crucial topics including sustainable waste management, conservation and management of natural resources, legal provisions, trail upgrades, signposting, and collaboration in local developmental activities.
During the interactive session, stakeholders deliberated on challenges and opportunities to enhance the ecological and infrastructural framework of the region. The discussions emphasized sustainable practices to preserve the natural beauty and cultural heritage of the Annapurna Conservation Area while promoting eco-tourism.

The event saw active participation from the Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, Chief Administrative Officer, and Ward Chairpersons of Gharpajhong Rural Municipality. Additionally, executive members of the Rural Municipality and officials from the Conservation Area Management Committee were also present.
The initiative highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts among local authorities and conservation bodies to achieve sustainable development in the Annapurna region. The stakeholders agreed on the need for stronger coordination to address emerging challenges and ensure the region’s long-term ecological and economic viability.
This event marks another step forward in fostering cooperation among various entities to preserve one of Nepal’s most treasured landscapes while bolstering local development.
