Preparations for Rishi Panchami Completed at Teku’s Risheshwar Mahadev Temple

Kathmandu Metropolitan City Ward No. 12 has completed all necessary preparations for the celebration of Rishi Panchami at the historic Risheshwar Mahadev Temple in Teku. Authorities have ensured crowd management, security, cleaning, and lighting arrangements to facilitate the large number of female devotees expected to visit the temple for worship. The temple premises and surrounding heritage sites have also been thoroughly cleaned and prepared for the occasion.

Ward Chair Balakrishna Maharjan informed that the temple will open to devotees starting from midnight tonight. To ensure the smooth operation of the event, coordination has been made with security personnel, Nepal Scouts, and various other organizations. Special arrangements have been made for women who have observed the Teej fast, allowing them to not only worship but also perform the Rishi Panchami rituals at the temple.

For the safety of devotees, security personnel will be stationed along the designated lines for temple entry. In case of emergencies, high alertness will be maintained, with ambulances on standby and health camps set up for basic medical checks. Special provisions have also been made to assist the elderly and differently-abled individuals in accessing the temple for worship.

Additionally, traffic restrictions will be in place on Sunday, halting the operation of vehicles from Teku to Kuleshwor and Sanepa. Devotees and locals have been requested to use alternative routes during the festival. Ward Chair Maharjan emphasized that these measures are aimed at ensuring the safety and convenience of all participants during the Rishi Panchami celebrations.
