Singapore Airlines Launches Massive Wide-Body Flights to Kathmandu

Singapore Airlines (SIA) will operate its wide-body aircraft on the Singapore–Kathmandu route from 4th March to 24th April 2026 to accommodate the increased passenger demand during the spring season. The airline announced that two of the seven weekly flights will utilize the wide-body aircraft, while the remaining flights will continue with the narrow-body planes.

Expanding Capacity with Wide-Body Aircraft

SIA highlighted that operating the wide-body aircraft will allow the airline to expand its capacity on the Kathmandu route, catering to higher customer demand in March and April, when both international tourists and Nepalis traveling abroad increase significantly.

The aircraft is the largest to operate at Tribhuvan International Airport in terms of seat capacity. It features a total of 337 seats, including 36 Business Class seats and 301 Economy Class seats. Business Class passengers enjoy fully-flat beds measuring 76 inches in length and 26 inches in width, along with direct aisle access from every seat. The retractable armrests provide additional comfort and flexibility for lounging. Economy Class seats are ergonomically designed, with a six-way adjustable headrest and foldable wings that offer enhanced neck support, ensuring passengers a more comfortable in-flight experience.

In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity

Passengers on this wide-body aircraft will have access to SIA’s latest generation KrisWorld in-flight entertainment system, powered by Panasonic’s eX3 system. KrisWorld offers over 1,900 options, including movies, TV shows, music albums, and games. Travelers can create personalized playlists, save media to resume across flights, and receive content recommendations based on their preferences and viewing history.

In addition, the aircraft provides unlimited complimentary Wi-Fi, one of the most comprehensive offerings in the airline industry. Business Class passengers, PPS Club members, and supplementary cardholders enjoy free unlimited Wi-Fi automatically. Economy Class passengers can also access unlimited Wi-Fi by registering as a KrisFlyer member, which is free of charge.

Flight Schedule

Singapore Airlines will operate the wide-body aircraft for two weekly flights on the Singapore–Kathmandu route. The remaining five weekly flights will continue to operate with narrow-body aircraft. The complete flight schedule from 4 March 2026 to 24 April 2026 is as follows:

Enhancing Passenger Experience

SIA emphasized that the wide-body flights will provide enhanced comfort, convenience, and entertainment for all passengers. The airline expects the introduction of these aircraft to meet the higher seasonal demand effectively while offering a more premium in-flight experience.

With its spacious seating configuration, advanced entertainment system, and complimentary Wi-Fi services, the wide-body aircraft demonstrates SIA’s commitment to quality travel and passenger satisfaction. The Business and Economy Class travelers alike will benefit from ergonomically designed seating, personal entertainment options, and reliable connectivity.

Anticipated Passenger Demand

Singapore Airlines noted that March and April are peak months for travel between Nepal and Singapore. The airline expects an increase in Nepalis returning home or traveling abroad during this period, as well as a notable rise in international tourist arrivals in Nepal. The deployment of the wide-body aircraft aims to address this demand efficiently while maintaining SIA’s high standards of service.

Passengers flying on Wednesdays and Fridays can enjoy the upgraded wide-body experience, while other travelers on different days will continue to have access to SIA’s narrow-body services, ensuring that schedules remain flexible and convenient for all the passengers.

Singapore Airlines’ introduction of wide-body aircraft on the Singapore–Kathmandu route marks a significant step in enhancing capacity and passenger comfort, particularly during the high-demand spring season. With fully-flat Business Class beds, ergonomically designed Economy Class seating, KrisWorld entertainment, and unlimited Wi-Fi, SIA is set to provide a premium and seamless flying experience for all the travelers.
