A six-month-long Muktinath Mahayagya will be held at the sacred pilgrimage site of Muktinath, revered by both Hindus and Buddhists. Led by Jagadguru Swami Kamalnayacharya, the event will commence on Chaitra 24 (Ram Navami) and continue until Dashain. The Mahayagya aims to promote Muktinath, preserve the sacred Shaligram stones (believed to be incarnations of Lord Vishnu), and pray for world peace and national prosperity.

As part of the preparations, the Shree Gajendra Moksha Narayan-Muktinath Rath Yatra, led by Swami Kamalnayacharya, has reached Jomsom in Mustang. The procession, which began from Triveni in Nawalparasi, includes dozens of priests and over 200 devotees. The yatra will conclude at Muktinath after passing through Kagbeni.

Local authorities, tourism entrepreneurs, and cultural organizations in Mustang warmly welcomed the yatra. During the event, Swami Kamalnayacharya emphasized the importance of preserving Gandaki’s heritage and the significance of Muktinath as a place of deep spiritual significance. He highlighted that this annual yatra would help attract thousands of pilgrims and tourists to Muktinath.

The Mahayagya will feature continuous recitations of sacred scriptures such as the Vedas, Puranas, Ramayana, and Bhagavad Gita, along with various religious rituals like havan, kirtan, and prayers for global peace and Nepal’s prosperity.
