The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), Gandaki Province Office in Pokhara, had the privilege of hosting H.E. Mr. Wang Xin, Charge D’Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Nepal, during his official visit to the region. Mr. Wang was warmly welcomed by Mr. Mani Raj Lamichhane, the Chief of the NTB Gandaki Province Office, who expressed enthusiasm for enhancing cooperation between Nepal and China in the tourism sector.

During the meeting, the two sides engaged in fruitful discussions focused on improving air connectivity between China and Pokhara. One of the key proposals was to establish regular and charter flights from Pokhara International Airport. This initiative is seen as a vital step in boosting tourism and facilitating business exchanges, making it easier for Chinese travelers to visit Pokhara, a popular tourist destination known for its stunning landscapes and adventure activities.

In addition to air connectivity, the discussions also explored the potential for offering Chinese language training in Pokhara. This initiative aims to strengthen cultural and professional ties between Nepal and China, ensuring that local tourism stakeholders are better equipped to communicate and cater to Chinese tourists.

Both parties expressed optimism about the partnership, recognizing the mutual benefits of increasing accessibility and welcoming Chinese travelers to Pokhara. The NTB is committed to deepening this collaboration, to promote Pokhara as a vibrant and inviting destination for tourists from China. By fostering these connections, Nepal aims to enhance its tourism sector and contribute to the economic growth of the region.
