The Nepal Adventure Running Federation has announced the organization of the Trishuli Ultra Race, set to take place on the 23rd of Chaitra, starting from Belkotgadhi, Nuwakot. The event is being conducted with the primary support of the Provincial Sports Development Council, Bagmati. On Sunday, the federation held a press conference in the Bidur Municipality, Nuwakot, to share details of the upcoming competition.

According to the federation’s president, Ekendra Bahadur Kunwar, around 300 athletes, including national, international, and local participants, are expected to compete in the race. The competition will be held in two categories: male and female.

Prizes for the race winners are set as follows: the first-place winner will receive NPR 100,000, the second-place winner will be awarded NPR 75,000, the third-place winner will get NPR 50,000, the fourth-place winner will earn NPR 20,000, the fifth-place winner will be given NPR 10,000, and the athletes placing sixth to tenth will each receive NPR 3,000.

The race will begin from the premises of Niranjana Bhagwati Temple, located in Belkotgadhi, Nuwakot, and will cover several scenic spots including the old stone steps, Malikot, Shera, Murlitar, Nuwakot Durbar, Darigouda, Phalate, Dandagaun, Gerkhu Shanti Kalyan School, Chapatar, Keraghari, Betrawati, Solepul, Tupche, Trishuli Hospital, Panchakanya Temple stairs, Chahare, Ranbhuweshwori School, and Devighat Bridge, culminating in the sacred pilgrimage site and market area of Devighat.

Interested participants can register for the event either through the Nepal Adventure Running Federation at Satdobato, the Nuwakot District Sports Development Committee, the Belkot Youth Club, Hotel Janak Tripureshwar, or online platforms.

The event is being supported by several local bodies, including the Belkotgadhi Municipality, the Bidur Municipality, Likhu Rural Municipality, the Suryagadhi Rural Municipality, the Uttargaya Rural Municipality, the Nuwakot District Sports Development Committee, and the Rasuwa District Sports Development Committee. Event coordinator Rajan Khatri provided these details during the press conference.

The total estimated cost for organizing the competition is NPR 3.251 million, which will be funded through contributions from the Bagmati Province and private sectors. During the press event, notable attendees included Vijay Gurung, President of the Nuwakot District Development Committee, Biraj Lopchan, President of the Rasuwa District Development Committee, and Rabindra Thapa, Secretary of the Nepal Adventure Running Federation.
